Power supply repair - This time, as usual, it was exploded and leaking electrolytic capacitors.  Once the magical hot dog scented juice squirts out of them (usually because of poor quality control at the factory) they no longer do their job and the power supply ceases to make steady reliable power, if it makes any power at all. This particular power supply is from a nice 19” flat screen that I’d really like to have working again. Failing that, we can bypass the power supply all together and give it 5V and 12V from the computer’s power supply.
