3D finishing a smooth aluminum part with a 1/4” ball mill in the high speed 24,000 RPM spindle on the milling machine. Total finish time was about 6 minutes. The next batch will be run slower and with more passes to cut back on hand finishing times.

So, this is the new high speed AC spindle actually using a little bit of it’s 1.3 horsepower.  Cuts processing time of each part from over an hour to just over 18 minutes.
